The Shorts Skyvan is a powerful heavy lifter, capable of loads up to 4600 lbs. It features stunning performance, and can operate safely off short gravel airstrips. The unique rear loading design of the Skyvan provides the versatility to carry very large loads such as vehicles and building materials within its cavernous freighthold. The Skyvan carries loads that would not fit into any comparable aircraft, and does the job faster, and with greater economy than a helicopter. The Skyvan is fully De Iced, and can be operated Day or Night, IFR or VFR. The Skyvan can carry up to 9 passengers plus freight.
